    • Did It Happen Or Did It Not? April 3, 2010
It’s been what, three weeks since Rep Emanuel Cleaver claimed he was spit on? And now he won’t talk about it? I know if some guy spit on me, I’d kick his ass! I understand that a politician might choose a different option, but he sure as hell would want that guy punished and not […]
    • “Right Wing Domestic Terrorism” Assumptions April 2, 2010
So much for the Leftist assumptions and chants of “right wing domestic terrorism” playing a role in the nine Hutaree terrorists. They blast that if a person is a Christian, then they must be a right winger. I find the exact opposite to be true out here, where the Catholics and Christians are usually on […]
    • Phil Hare (D-IL) Is A Sad Fool April 2, 2010
How a member of Congress can disregard the US Constitution, which they swore to uphold and protect, is frightening. Of course, you won’t see this in the MSM, because they are still salivating over Catholic priests raping young boys. How sad that he thought life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness was in the US […]

Such words echo the comments section of CNN’s article on yesterday’s Tea Party in Senator Harry Reid’s hometown. And we’re being told the Left is so tolerant of others? Give me a F*cking break. SocratesNJ Interesting that the Tea-Baggers have the time and money to go to Nevada. I figure that they’re either collecting socialistic […]
    • Thoughts On Mesa, Arizona March 28, 2010
I just got back from a week long trip in Mesa, Arizona. Some comments: The flight from Chicago to Mesa was about 3.5 hours. Not bad, and no headaches this time! Last time I was on an airplane was three years ago. The flight was Chicago to Orlando-about 2 hours, but I got a terrible […]
    • Global Warming Causes…Violence? WTF? March 27, 2010
As if the Man-Made Global Warming (aka ManBearPig) movement wasn’t crazy enough, it just got a little crazier. Global warming could make the world a more violent place, because higher temperatures increase human aggression and create volatile situations, a new study says. The report combined government data about average yearly temperatures with statistics o […]
    • Comforting The Pro-Choice Side March 26, 2010
NPR decided to provide more comfort to the Pro-Choice side of the Abortion debate. Here’s the memo that was just distributed to all NPR staff: “NPR News is revising the terms we use to describe people and groups involved in the abortion debate. This updated policy is aimed at ensuring the words we speak and […]

Dennis Kucinich (D-OH) has made it known today he will vote for the $875 billion health care plan currently sitting inside the House of Representatives. The far left Progressive voted against the health care reform bill back in November because it did not include a single-payer system.

Kucinich has displayed great common sense on fiscal issues. However, when the President makes a visit to your district, privately meets with you four times, and asks for your vote, you had better vote in his favor, or else!

Wait a sec, that’s not what the President should be doing. That’s what lobbyists are for!

“The president’s visit to my district … underscored the urgency of this vote,” Kucinich said. “I have doubts about the bill … [but] I’ve decided to cast a vote in favor of the legislation.”

I realize Kucinich is a far lefty guy. I can respect that, to an extent. His fiscal policy record is astounding for any politician in Washington DC. But what the hell happened? This bill will not lower premiums, as mentioned by Dick Durbin (D-IL) .

Well then…so much for cutting costs.

Well, I think Kucinich changed his mind for several reasons. Some is White House pressure, sure, (and all presidents do that: that’s what they do), but also having it prominently pointed out to him, in front of his constituents, how great a proportion of his own constituents would benefit helped—both out of genuine concern for his constituents, but also probably a realization that, with this so publicly pointed out, a “no” vote would not look good at all. Also, I think he realizes that the bill as it is first passed is but the first step—both Social Security and Medicare improved over time. Indeed, Medicare has improved to the point that, when legislation was proposed in the Senate to kill Medicare, not a single one—zero—of all those GOP politicians who rail against Medicare would go near the bill. Finally, I think he realized that if this bill is defeated it might be another 20 years before health reform is addressed, and we can’t wait.

That’s the sad thing. The GOP had eight years to get things done on health care, but they prioritized foreign policy and that got us TONS of debt. Now suddenly they are worried about health care reform? Perhaps they ARE the Party of No…

Even so, I don’t follow the logic of putting crappy bills out for votes. Not many fully know what is even in them! Can’t there be more smaller bills instead of one giant bill?
